It seems weird but honestly, I'll find this VERY useful. It's a way to keep that muscle memory around for you to see and find what you need but still be able to clean up after. If you loose a file due to "cleaning up", this way you can easily retrace it's location. You know how you didn't like to clean up your room as a kid and sometimes "I keep it like this cause I know where things are and cleaning it up will just make it harder to find!" was sometimes a legit excuse cause of your muscle memory of the locations of things, even if to an outsider it looked like a mess, it's like that but for your desktop. This was you can "undo" a clean up and that file is back right where you remembered it. ![]() There are many times I am working on a project, yes my icons are a mess and I click "clean up" but then I've lost where that one file I needed was. Why?Įveryone is asking "why" but I personally am SO happy to see this! ![]() This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.Įdit: Found out it doesn’t “undo” a cleanup like I thought and just shuffles your icon positions.
